We are looking for a Transportation Manager (Carrier Performance) to join our Supply Chain team at our Hawthorne Gardening headquarters in Vancouver, Washington. In this role , you will manage our carriers by building lasting partnerships as well as creating scorecards and ensuring accountability for service levels. You will focus on driving improved service and cost saving initiatives through key partnerships with freight providers and internal stakeholders.

This role will has high growth potential into a senior leadership role within our supply chain group!

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Manage transportation service providers to key performance metrics

  • Develop carrier scorecards

  • Negotiate transportation service agreements and pricing

  • Lead annual carrier RFP

  • Drive private fleet compliance and performance

  • Communicate key initiatives to internal and external partners

  • Support enterprise projects forging relationships across organization

  • Innovate and implement freight programs driving service and cost benefits

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 10+ years of experience in transportation management in a leadership role

  • Direct experience managing a portfolio of carriers including private fleet operations

  • ERP and transportation management system experience

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to travel as needed
