We’re looking for a Site Planner who will grow at our Vancouver, WA offices.

The Site Planner is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity as well as managing inventory levels.

In this role you will:

  • Site Planning: Coordinate production workflow for manufactured products. Utilize MRP planning tools to optimize production schedules to ensure maximum performance and minimal delay. Create production orders and complete daily production entries to ensure accurate inventory values. Work with the Production Supervisor to ensure production schedules are completed to customer needs. Complete month end production order sweep for month end accounting. Obtain output information and end of day stats such as daily production numbers, percentage of damaged, etc. Prepare and submit reports regarding daily and monthly performance reports.
  • Deployment Planning: Collaborate with all departments to ensure proper inventory targets are maintained and shipments are delivered on time. Drive continuous improvement by working with internal and external contacts as needed to resolve systemic issues. Drive continuous improvement by examining existing demand planning processes and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Forecast Planning: Collaborate with sales team and Corporate Supply Chain to incorporate customer specific information into the forecast. Proactively communicate known forecast changes on items that are yet to be validated. Maintain monthly worksheets to provide visibility to team members regarding demand and scheduling changes. Provide single point of contact for all forecasting related questions from other departments, and utilize troubleshooting skills to work with other departments to correct any issues. Be the subject matter expert on your item level data and forecasts.
  • New Item Tracking/Planning: Participate in annual execution of new SKU initiatives. Includes participation in project planning meetings with other internal functions, and ensuring product is available to ship from across the network to meet target availability dates. Drive improvement in new item processes and forecast.
  • Inventory Management: Work with the Supply Chain team to ensure production has all needed material for upcoming production and forecasts. Work with procurement to ensure purchase orders are issued for packaging and raw materials from outside suppliers to support the production schedule. Drive reduction in excess and obsolete inventory. Provide reconciliation support as needed related to inventory, production posting and accounts payable issues. 

The perfect person will have:

  • High school diploma; further education or certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in site planning in manufacturing or similar field.
  • Excellent knowledge of the supply chain flow from OTC to shipping product.
  • Experience and working knowledge of SAP, MRP or similar demand planning systems.
  • Advance skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and ERP systems.
  • Effectively partner cross-functionally within the organization.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills.

Some other nice to haves:

  • Working knowledge of the soil & fertilizer industry.
  • Experience working within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
