We are looking for a Production Lead who will grow at our Vancouver, WA facility.

Assist area supervisor with the activities of the production organization in order to meet manufacturing targets and objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.  Facilitate the tracking of product through unit areas and tracking of area indices using application of lean manufacturing principles.

In this role you will:

  • Assist in problem identification and resolution.Facilitate solution of daily production issues Make sound decisions based on quality, cost and delivery Assist supervisor, engineering & quality with process improvements
  • Act as a leader within team. Model appropriate behavior and lead by example Foster positive relationships in teams Communicate professionally & effectively Assign employees to work areas for daily production to meet demands Ensure adequate staffing at all times Take attendance and update supervisor daily
  • Communicate with team and leadership as necessary. Interact with supervisors, managers, engineers, quality, process technicians, and operators on a daily basis Assist in department meetings & updates Provide honest, un-biased feedback to supervisor
  • Support safety activities in work area and throughout shop. Address safety issues as they occur Assist in training employees Assist employees with minor first aid Fill out incident/accident reports Help facilitate a clean and safe environment for employees & visitors Follow appropriate protocols for emergency response Assist in managing MSDS requirements in area
  • Assist continuous improvement projects and activities. Support implementation of new equipment, procedures & processes Participate in CI teams & improvement projects Identify improvement opportunities Assist  in development of new procedures and standards to reduce non-value activities Participate in Kaizen events Assist supervisor in evaluating and implementing employee suggestions
  •  Work to ensure adequate material flow in work area.  Monitor parts flow Ensure downstream cells are supplied with parts on time Notify upstream processes of forecasted shortage problems Ensure inventory tracking systems are followed Provide input to improve on-time delivery of components Monitor department production to schedule, coordinate workforce and equipment to meet production requirements Investigate short falls in production output
  • Initiate maintenance activities in work area. Submit maintenance requests using appropriate urgency designation Assist with TPM implementation Assist supervisor with scheduling maintenance down-time
  • Support quality control efforts in work area. Escalate quality issues to quality department Ensure standard work procedures are followed Perform quality checks, audits, and charting using department gauges Assist supervisor with daily scrap processing
  • Support development needs of employees. Train new & existing employees on processes and standard work Conducts new hire safety orientation Assist with cross training scheduling Assist with development and maintenance of training matrix
  • Work to sustain current documentation in work area. Participate in the development of standard work instructions Audit hourly count boards based on standard work procedures and address gaps Train operators on proper data collection and entry
