Job Description

Tooling Mold Cleaner/Technician Assistant will ensure all cleaning procedures are followed, deliver a clean and functional mold, and report any molding issues. Works with Tooling Technical Lead– Molding, Engineering, Sr. Process Technicians, Process Technicians, Set-Up Technicians, and Tooling Specialists to maintain reliable and production-ready tools.  Operates tool room machinery and maintains documentation. Responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area, ensuring the tool room is a safe environment in line with health, safety, and environmental requirements.

  • Tear down, assemble, and clean molds safely and efficiently according to procedures and processes.

  • Identify and label proper configuration of mold components for proper assembly of desired part.

  • Help Troubleshoot mold problems and or correct problems within limits of technical experience.

  • Identify and follow up with appropriate Engineer or Tooling personnel for damage to molds and/or updates.

  • Ability to properly move and place molds and components using appropriate equipment and following proper lifting and handling techniques.

  • Maintain tools and related equipment, clean, assemble, and install mold components.

  • Inspect parts produced from mold for damage or quality defects caused by mold or related components or equipment.

  • Knowledge of tool room machines. Knowledge of inspection and measuring techniques.

  • Understands how an injection mold comes apart and goes together and how it functions.

  • Has experience with various hot runner types and manufacturers.

Education:
High School Education or GED preferred but not required.   

Experience:   
Must have a minimum of five years of experience in a plastic injection work environment and 2-3 years in molding cleaning experience. 

Knowledge:  
Must be able to operate cranes and forklift. Use of mills, grinders, lathes, and several hand tools. Must be able to disassemble and assemble large mold up to 10000 pounds. Must be able to use inspection tools. 

Skills and Abilities: 

​Must be able to analyze, recommend, and perform necessary cleaning and preventive maintenance.

Provides approximate time necessary to complete tasks or projects from start to completion. Must be able to effectively communicate.

Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, must be able to stand, sit, walk, stoop and bend for extended periods of time and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.  

Must be able to work required shifts and overtime and have necessary personal tools to perform assignments.

Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not necessary.
