We are looking for a Distribution Director who will join our Hawthorne Supply Chain team! This is a remote position located in the Bay Area. Candidates based in Vancouver, Washington may also be considered.

As the Distribution Director,  you will lead the North America, West distribution network for Hawthorne brands. This position has direct responsibility for all service and financial metrics within this distribution network.  Responsibilities include analysis of warehouse and carrier performance, capacity planning, shipment execution, and provider/carrier collaboration, including contract management. Lastly, this person understands and promotes a safe and compliant warehouse operations and ensures freedom to operate through the enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures, company policy, all legal/regulatory considerations, and company/regional Safety and Quality procedures.

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Oversee a network of distribution centers providing exceptional service to Hawthorn customers in western North America while maintaining efficient distribution operations.

  • Provide leadership to Distribution managers and associates to enable best-in-class customer service and experience.

  • Drive game changing solutions within the warehouse network.

  • Be responsible for all performance metrics within the network for inventory management and control.  This includes annual physical inventories, cycle counts, internal audits, etc.

  • Evaluate historical inventory data and collaborate with purchasing, finance and planning teams to maximize cash flow opportunities.

  • Foster a team environment with a focus on associate engagement, excellence and safety. 

  • Provide support for warehousing network changes, system installations, new product launches, product transitions, and acquisitions.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, supply chain management, operations, finance or other related degree.

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of distribution/warehouse operations or logistics analytics 

  • Analytical experience and knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures within a manufacturing CPG company and general knowledge of retail business a plus.

  • Exposure to compliance and safety requirements associated with the management of a warehouse operation.

  • Ability to engage and inspire leaders and associates to deliver outstanding customer service.

  • Strong business acumen, with a solid record of leading change and delivering results.

  • Flexibility to accommodate 35%+- travel is required based on business need.
