We are looking for a Director of Commercial Accounts who will grow at our Marysville, Ohio Hawthorne Gardening Co office. 

This role is key to the development, implementation and execution of the customer sales plan for HGC strategic LPs and MSO’s. This experienced individual is the primary sales lead and key contact for all Hawthorne Signature Brands and distributed goods. The Director of Commercial Accounts works closely across all functions, including Tech Services, Finance, Customer Service, Commercial Sales and Supply Chain.

In this role you will:

  • Manage the relationship and needs of key account customers to ensure we are providing outstanding customer service across all facets of their operation. 

  • Lead, manage and implement strategic selling and business planning processes with both internal and external business partners, resulting in a long term strategic plan that aligns HGC and the customer.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with HGC commercial sales staff in managing strategic and tactical objectives.

  • Work with all cross functional teams to effectively manage products, margins, fill rate goals, tech service issues and opportunities.

  • Communicate with and support HGC Sales in executing customer plans and sales opportunities.

The perfect person will have:

  • At least 5 years of consumer products sales, preferably in a large enterprise environment

  • Hydroponic Growing Experience and Sales 

  • Strong customer relationship management experience in the hydroponics field

  • This individual should be adept at managing the annual “sales cycle” 

  • A solid understanding of growing operations

  • A high degree of process understanding and fact-based analysis interpretation

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, MBA preferred

  • Flexibility to accommodate 60%+- travel as required based on business need.
