We are looking for a Technical Manager, Logistics Execution who will join our Business Application Services team in Vancouver, Washington.
This position will be based at The Hawthorne Gardening Company headquarters in Vancouver, Washington just across the river from Portland, Oregon.
The Business Application Services (BAS) department is committed to supporting the company’s current and long term strategies. As part of the BAS organization, the Technical Manager, Logistics Execution will partner with the global Supply Chain community serving their needs in the order fulfillment, distribution, master data and the enhancement and maintenance of SAP EWM, SAP WM, Transportation Management Systems, shipping interfaces, and Procurement processes.
What you’ll do in this role:
Provide day-to-day operational support for all logistics applications including but not limited to SAP ECC, SAP EWM, SAP WM, Banyan TMS interfaces, and participate in rolling out SAP EWM to 10 distribution centers.
Working with the development team, implement code changes to resolve production issues in a timely fashion
Lead or support small to large scale continuous improvement projects in SAP EWM, SAP WM, and TMS application areas
Complete SAP or related system configuration as required to support functional business requirements
Write and maintain detailed and effective documentation for SAP and development activities
Collaborate with business and IT teams along with external partners to support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
Lead requirements gathering and design sessions with business and IT resources and formalize requirements and gain formal signoff
Manage projects and initiatives in adherence to Scotts standard Project Management Office (PMO) methodology including financial management practices
Complete unit testing and cross-functional integration testing for SAP development items
What you’ll need to be successful:
Computer Science, Computer Applications, and Information Systems degree or the equivalent combination of training, education, or experience
Minimum 8 years of SAP functional experience, with expert knowledge in several areas
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills
Strong technical knowledge, with extensive hands-on experience in SAP configuration
Experience reading, debugging and developing ABAP programs preferred
Fundamental understanding of SAP Workflow, IDOCs, and EDI message types
Working knowledge of other SAP module integration points is preferred for this role
Knowledge of project management concepts and deliverables
Proficient in technical documentation and functional ABAP specification writing
Expertise related to SAP RF frameworks and supporting infrastructure is preferred.
Expertise related to Ariba Indirect Purchasing, SAP Direct Purchasing, and Accounts Payable processes preferred.
