We’re looking for a Purchasing Coordinator Intern in Vancouver, WA

In this role, you will:

  • Provide daily assistance and coordination of Purchasing Department tasks, calendars, emails, communication etc.
  • Receive emails from Purchasing support and delegate to proper buyer and provide follow up communication that task was completed.
  • Reconcile Past Due PO report and update due dates in coordination of buyer direction.
  • Provide data entry as needed into Supplier Relationship Management.
  • Provide research and assistance in reconciliation of Pricing Discrepancies form accounting.
  • Initiate and maintain Stop Sale list and provide initial communication to buyer/vendor with stop sale parts. Maintain the processed follow up.
  • Create and maintain calendars for the following: PO in transit; price increase; vendor promotions; vendor reviews; inventory reviews; seasonality forecasting; inventory purges; new part/vendor NPF from Sourcing; more TBD.
  • Assist in tracking and collecting credit memos from vendors for samples, damages, rebates, marketing etc.
  • Provide assistance to buyers as needed for data entry for part maintenance in Epicor/JDA.
  • Provide back up support when a buyer is out of the office, which includes placing pos, communicating with vendors, verifying pricing, and adjusting pricing discrepancies.
  • Assist in price increase spreadsheets in Excel.
  • Keep vendor folders up to date with Contracts and supplier price lists.
  • Work collaboratively with sourcing department to keep a calendar of activities related to purchasing.
  • Communicate efficiently within the Sunlight departments on purchasing activities as directed as well as provide professional outward communication to suppliers.
  • Cost Control Management- consistently participate in activities that provide measurable results which improve company’s bottom line in the form of cost take out, cost reduction, marketing allowances, etc.
  • Coordinator will be providing support on this activity with buyers.
  • Maintain the monthly Cost Take Out sheet.
  • Maintain meeting notes from Purchasing Meetings.
  • Keep purchasing documents on server organized and up to date.
  • Maintain project list by department and by buyer.

The perfect person will:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school.
  • Possess strong analytical and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication.
  • Prioritize collaboration and problem solving.
  • Manage multiple tasks and is detailed-oriented.
  • Have prior internship experience (preferred but not required).
