We are looking for a Project Manager who will grow at our Vancouver, WA corporate offices.

 The project manager will be responsible for the management, planning, execution and reporting of key product development projects related to our engineered product categories including lighting, controllers, HVAC equipment,irrigation equipment, trays, benches, and hardware.  The activities range from end to end project management including project ideation, generation of project charter, timeline, implementation, supervision, startup and project closeout. 

In this role you will:

  • Partner with business, technical, and supply chain to manage product development execution from ideation to launch of products in the Hawthorne innovation pipeline.
  • Lead project plan creation in collaboration with the business, technical, and supply chain leads by defining scope and deliverables, establishing timelines, and identifying cross-functional resources needed to deliver each project.
  • Drive project category meetings, capture notes and action items, and hold project contributors accountable to deliverables and timelines.
  • Identify and elevate potential project issues and delays to management and key stakeholders.
  • Measure and track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals, and present progress reports to management at a regular cadence.
  • Utilize SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) module and Product Portfolio Management (PPM) tools to track project process, milestones, and finished good SKU creation as well as generate reports for management decision-making.

  • Assist with the integration of newly acquired brands from Epicor ERP system into SAP PLM.

  • Assist with the identification, retrieval, manipulation, and analysis of data necessary to make decisions on category strategy or product lifecycle.
  • Assist business, technical, and supply chain leads on projects to improve processes and performance.
  • Assist management and executive staff with other special projects and functions as necessary.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Travel requirements up to 15%

The perfect person will have:

  •   Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field, MBA preferred.
  •   Minimum 3 years project management experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience using SAP or similar ERP system.
  • Minimum 5 years of overall manufacturing, logistics, planning, or product development experience in a leadership role at a consumer products company.
  • Thorough understanding of Sales, Supply Chain, Marketing, R&D, Regulatory, and Finance as they apply to different stages of product development.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, SmartSheets, or similar project management software.
  • Proven project management, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with a proven record of building relationships and collaborating cross-functionally in a large organization.
  • Critical thinker and self starter, willing to take ownership of types of projects and tasks
