General Summary

Hawthorne Gardening is looking for a Master Data Analyst in Vancouver, WA.  This role works closely with Product Portfolio Managers, Marketing, Orders to Cash, Purchasing, Plants, Sales, Finance, and Business Transformation teams to support assigned Divisions for Material, Customer, and Vendor Master set ups.  Role requires individuals who can work independently and guide or lead cross functional team discussions on the recommended Master Data practices to resolve issues and accomplish master data set ups and maintenance in accordance with Company and Master Data stated policies and procedures.


  • Create and maintain material, customer, and vendor master data within the scope of departmental guidelines for all business groups

  • Interface with Product Managers, Marketing, Orders to Cash, Planning, Distribution, Purchasing, and Regulatory to ensure accurate master data set-ups and maintenance in SAP

  • Provide assistance and/or guidance to Project Teams as needed to gather “Business Requirements” to set-up new and/or maintain SKUs

  • Provide front line Administrative support for the PLM SKU set-up process

  • Create and maintain Master Data work instructions

  • Collaborate on continuous improvement projects to automate and upgrade master data processes and data delivery methods

  • Coordinate other key material related SAP objects including:

    • Assign SKU numbers

    • Assign UPC, EAN and I 2of 5 codes

    • Assign Product Descriptions

    • Maintain Alternate units of measure

    • GS1 Data Synchronization

    • Lexis Nexis OFAC review

The perfect person will have:

  • Education: Associate Degree or higher;
  • Two or more years of PC processing, data entry and validation;
  • Strong data processing skills;
  • Efficient in Microsoft Excel;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Detail oriented emphasizing accuracy.

Some other nice to have’s:

  • SAP /ERP workflow tools a plus.
