We are looking for a Manager for our Sales Lead Management team who will grow and support our U.S. business.  This position reports to the Vice President of Sales Planning & Communication.

This position is responsible for inbound sales lead management, directing leads through proper channels to maximize each lead. This role will be primarily focused on assessing leads to identify key Commercial leads and then disseminating the responsibility of individual projects and/or accounts through the internal functions. This Manager will also drive the overall CRM process and development to automate and implement all sales call reporting and relationship management capabilities for both Retail and Commercial accounts.  The Sales Lead Management Analyst will report to this position. Success in this role will drive greater customer satisfaction, improve customer relationship solutions and indirectly increase revenue across Retail and Commercial accounts for Hawthorne.  


In this role you will:

  • Systematize lead management and lead generation activities across Hawthorne functions. 

  • Develop, process creation, implementation and ongoing oversight and support of a new CRM processes for the North America sales organization.

  • Actively assess leads to identify key Commercial leads (vs. Retail leads) and then facilitating the ownership and management those individual projects and/or accounts to our internal sales functions 

  • Assessing requirements of the lead for follow-up, help support execution of the Sales Managers, Tech Services, Supply Chain, and other team members. 

  • Provide regular analysis and input into the annual business revenue opportunity value stemming from inbound sales leads.

  • Manage and direct the adoption and ongoing use of sales action and call reporting platforms like Hubspot and/or SalesForce. 

  • Work closely with the key retail and commercial sales reps to determine ownership and accountability for executing sales lead follow up plans. 

  • Work with all cross functional teams to effectively engage on the required CRM solutions across multiple departments including technical service, category management, customer service and sales. 

  • Partnering with cross-functional groups across the business to analyze the components of the business where problems/trends exist. 


The perfect person will have:

  • Bachelor degree in business related field 

  • Extremely process creation and implementation driven.  High attention to process detail.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of hydroponics growing experience, preferably within a large hydroponic commercial and/or retail enterprise 

  • Understanding of all inputs involved in commercial hydroponics including Nutrients, Growing Media, Lighting, Systems, Air, Water & Pesticides and how they work with various plants

  • Understanding of commercial grower operations financial goals, targets and key performance indicators . 

  • People and customer management skills - especially problem solving - is very important. Ability to identify (potential) problems and propose solutions in a clear concise way is essential.

  • Must be aggressive and have the ability to think strategically, communicate flawlessly, collaborate
