All About You - The Right Person

Who are we looking for to fill this amazing role?

You have intellectual curiosity and love learning how things work and why people do what they do. You don’t have to be Einstein, but you have moments of brilliance and really good street smarts. While you are scrappy and able to get things done at the highest of expectations, you are humble by nature. If you were a runner you would tend to sprint out of the blocks, but can keep enough resilience to make it through the marathon even if it throws challenges your way. You strive to be a strong player on the team and would be equally happy getting assists or being the leading scorer. You are enjoyable to be around and hold the demeanor of someone we'd want to go on a road trip with.

Experience matters too. You probably have some HR experience and likely finished college with at least a bachelor's degree. If you didn't, that's not a deal breaker but be ready to tell us why you are awesome for this role without having done those things. You definitely have had life experience that has shaped you into a confident person that isn't afraid to speak your mind and respectfully challenge the status quo. You have learned how to overcome obstacles and see things through despite challenges. You've always been a self-starter.

The Work

We have amazing things to accomplish and want you to be a part of it. In this role, you get to work within our Shared Services group supporting our team of HR Generalists in driving business and talent growth. Our teams of Generalists have big ideas about how to solve complex business problems but don’t always have the time to do the research, find the solution and put it all together to get it across the finish line. That is where you come in.

To help support the team you will:

  • Partner closely with HR team on projects to solve business problems

  • Interact daily with our amazing associates to answer questions about our top notch benefits plans, payroll, or occasionally just chat with them about how their day is going

  • Great decision making requires a strong foundation of data, so you will be asked to complete administrative requirements connected with associate changes to make sure our systems are accurate and up to date

  • You will interface with our HR Specialty groups to ensure we meet our internal and external compliance obligations to make sure we are always doing the right thing

  • You will do exit interviews when people choose to move on to the next journey in their career and through your learnings will be able to make recommendations that help shape our culture

  • You’ll be the “right hand” of our team of Generalists allowing you to grow and learn while contributing to the execution of our HR priorities

What we do for you (just to list a few cool ones):

  • A place on an engaged team of passionate colleagues in a growing and dynamic industry

  • Offer extremely competitive benefits including: Health, Dental and Vision coverage

  • First day of hire, 401K match (up to 7.5%) and discounted stock purchasing program (15% discount)

  • 13 paid holidays and generous vacation policy

  • Onsite wellness center which includes: 24,000 sq. ft. fitness center, Walgreens pharmacy and Doctor’s office

  • Nutrition reimbursement program (up to $200 per associate and per spouse)

  • Beautiful campus and corporate offices designed like a log cabin offering free coffee, chef run cafe and the best crushed ice!

  • Our commitment to diversity and inclusion includes employee resource groups: Scotts Women’s Network, Scotts Black Employee Network, Scotts Veterans Network, GroPride Network, and Scotts Young Professionals
