We are looking for a Sales Lead Management Analyst who will grow and support our U.S. business. 

This position is responsible for inbound sales lead management, directing leads through proper channels to maximize each lead.  This role will be primarily focused on assessing leads to identify key Commercial leads and then managing the individual projects and/or accounts through the internal functions internally while assessing follow-up, helping to support execution of the projects/accounts.   Success in this role will drive greater customer satisfaction and increased revenue across Commercial accounts for Hawthorne.

In this role you will:

  • Systematize lead management, support CRM development and lead generation activities across Hawthorne functions.

  • Actively assess leads to identify key Commercial leads (vs. Retail leads) and then managing those individual projects and/or accounts through the internal functions 

  • Vet, Qualifying leads - Calling, emailing to get connected with the lead to confirm validity before assigning to sales manager. 

  • Assessing requirements of the lead for follow-up, help support execution of the Commercial Sales, Sales Managers, Tech Services, Supply Chain, and other team members.

  • Provide analysis and input into the annual business revenue growth plan and commercial growth initiatives

  • Target, acquire and drive revenue with top commercial hydroponic grower relationships

  • Work closely with the key retail accounts who supply products to growers

  • Work with all cross functional teams to effectively manage technical service requirements of commercial growers, order replenishment and recommendations

  • Coordinate and collaborate with Category, Brand Marketing, Customer Service, Operations and R&D to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Analyzing key performance indicators and providing recommendations for optimization.

  • Partnering with cross-functional groups across the business to analyze the components of the business where problems/trends exist.

  • Performing various administrative and tactical duties including periodic reporting and analysis 

The perfect person will have:

  • Bachelor degree in business related field     

  • Minimum 1-3 years of Salesforce experience or related CRM

  • Minimum 1-3 years of hydroponics growing experience, preferably within a large hydroponic commercial and/or retail enterprise

  • Understanding of all inputs involved in commercial hydroponics including Nutrients, Growing Media, Lighting, Systems, Air, Water & Pesticides and how they work with various plants

  • Understanding of commercial grower operations financial goals, targets and key performance indicators

  • People and customer management skills - especially problem solving - is very important.  Ability to identify (potential) problems and propose solutions in a clear concise way is essential.

  • Must be aggressive and have the ability to think strategically, communicate flawlessly, collaborate consistently, listen actively, give clear, consistent direction, work efficiently and foster teamwork.

  • Ability to interpret information and translate into actionable recommendations is a must.  

  • Strong computer skills in Google Suite in addition to Excel, PowerPoint

  • Strong quantitative skills

  • Analytics experience in either a retail or consumer products manufacturing environment 

  • Self-starter: willing to tackle ambiguous, complex data analyses creatively and to constantly seek improvements in the analytic processes of the office

  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally within the organization

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time

Some other nice to have’s:

  • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree focused on horticulture, hydroponics etc.

  • Salesforce or other CRM experience
