Job Overview: 

As an Account Representative your job will be to build relationships with medium sized retail accounts. You will be expected to visit customers on an as-needed basis to present/sell them new and existing products, educate them on our tools and resources, provide them with marketing material and make doing business with Hawthorne seamless as possible.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Understand the assigned market. Know what the competitors are doing and what stores are the strong ones in each area.

  • Visit accounts on an as-needed based. 80% of time is in the office with 20% should be on the road.

  • Educate accounts on new and existing products and review current promotions.

  • Get HGC Signature and Exclusive brands in every store.

  • Identify upsell / cross-sell opportunities with each account; increase account penetration.

  • Work with the Sales Director, Customer Service and other HGC areas to improve sales processes

  • Attend customer events and tradeshows.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of industry sales experience.

  • Familiarity of the hydroponics retail industry.

  • Strong sales management background.
